Take care to obtain a single layer of cells; avoid having the cells fold into several layers.
Try staining with iodine (I2KI) to observe transparent structures in the cell.

Observe structures such as cell wall, nucleus, vacuole, chloroplasts.
Estimate cell size in µm.
